De La Soul – “Run It Back!!” featuring Nas Official Music Video. Directed by Justice Silvera. The track comes from De La Soul’s album Cabin In The Sky. their first full studio album in about nine years and part of the Legend Has It… series. It is the group’s first major project after the 2023 death of founding member Trugoy the Dove (Dave Jolicoeur); the album includes some of his previously unreleased vocals and serves in part as a tribute. Produced by Supa Dave West and De La Soul, the song features Posdnuos and Nas reflecting on hip-hop’s past, present, and future. It samples The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” De La Soul’s own “Wonce Again Long Island,” and Nas’s “Made You Look.” Lyrics reference Long Island roots, Queens (Nas’s home), and contemporary artists. The video opens in Amityville, Long Island (where De La Soul began), then moves to Queens. It shows Posdnuos, Maseo, and Nas in a stylized police chase, using a collage style that mixes technology, photography, color, and visual effects.
