JAŸ-ZSUPER BOWL LXI

This is Jay-Z’s first time performing at the Super Bowl halftime show. His company Roc Nation has produced/strategically advised the shows since a 2019 partnership with the NFL (renewed in 2024). Commissioner Roger Goodell noted that when the deal began, he had one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself “whenever the moment felt right.”

Jay-Z’s statement: “From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey. Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

The timing aligns with his recent “JAŸ-Z 30” stadium run celebrating the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt (and 25th of The Blueprint), which included shows at SoFi last weekend. The show will be executive-produced by Roc Nation, with Hamish Hamilton directing. Fans are already speculating about possible guests (Beyoncé is the most frequent name mentioned). No setlist or additional performers have been announced yet. The official teaser (aired during Monday Night Football) used “Public Service Announcement” and the tagline “GOAT’s out of the bag.”
