“Westside Whimsy” Album by Jhené Aiko

**Westside Whimsy** is Jhené Aiko’s fourth studio album, It’s her first full-length project in six years since *Chilombo* (2020). She surprise-announced it on social media just days before release, with the caption noting the long gap: “You guys so much has happened in the last 6 years… I’m so grateful that I was finally able to finish.” The 20-track, 55-minute-49-second R&B album is described as a love letter to her Los Angeles hometown, drawing on ’90s music, West Coast car culture, surfing, beach vibes, and laid-back California energy. Aiko has called the title more of a lifestyle than just a project.

Notable features include a reunion with Kendrick Lamar on “So Good” (their first collab in over a decade), plus fellow West Coast artists Ab-Soul, Tyga, Larry June, and OHMA.
