NEW AlBUM: Jill Scott “To Whom This May Concern”

Jill Scott’s To Whom This May Concern, —her first full studio album in over a decade since Woman in
2015. It’s a big return for Jilly from Philly, and the timing lines up perfectly with right now.
This 19-track project (about 58 minutes long) blends her classic neo-soul roots with elements of jazz, house, hip-hop, spoken word, and affirmations. Themes center on empowerment, self-love, community, ancestry, confidence over fear, real connection, shaking off societal
“pressure” (like beauty standards and expectations), gratitude, and living fully. Features include Maha Adachi Earth, Trombone Shorty, Tierra Whack, Too $hort, and Ab-Soul. The album leans heavy on collaborations overall, with production from heavy hitters like DJ Premier, Om’Mas Keith, Andre Harris, Adam Blackstone, Darhyl Camper (Camper), and even Trombone Shorty contributing beats/instrumentation.
