NEW ALBUM: ASAP Rocky “Don’t Be Dumb”

A$AP Rocky’s long-awaited fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb, has been the subject of intense anticipation for years. The title itself dates back to at least 2018 Instagram posts, and Rocky has spent the intervening time teasing, refining, and repeatedly delaying the project—largely due to sample clearance hurdles, leaks, and his well-documented perfectionism.

Flacko finally locked in the release. The rollout included lead singles “Punk Rocky”, and “Helicopter$”, both previewing the album’s bold, genre-blending direction.

The album cover—illustrated by legendary filmmaker Tim Burton—perfectly captures the project’s cinematic, otherworldly vibe, which Rocky has described as a “movie” in the making. Burton’s signature gothic whimsy infuses the artwork, aligning with the record’s “Tim Burton nightmare” aesthetic: surreal alter egos, nods to classic films and television, and an experimental sonic palette that feels like a fever dream scored for the big screen.

Behind the boards and on the features, it’s an all-star affair that spans hip-hop, experimental, and left-field talent. Producers include heavyweights like Dean Blunt, Pharrell Williams, Mike Dean, Madlib, Metro Boomin, The Alchemist, and Danny Elfman (a frequent Burton collaborator whose orchestral touches add cinematic depth). Guest appearances feature an eclectic mix: Brent Faiyaz, Doechii, Gorillaz, Jessica Pratt, Jon Batiste, Thundercat, Tyler, the Creator, Westside Gunn, will.i.am, BossMan Dlow, Slay Squad, and more.

Overall, Don’t Be Dumb positions itself as Rocky’s most ambitious and visually driven work to date—equal parts rap album and arthouse statement, years in the crafting and now finally here.
