Teyana Taylor, winner of the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role at the Golden Globe Awards

Harlem, Teyana Taylor won the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture (commonly referred to as Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture) at the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards on January 11, 2026, for her role as Perfidia Beverly Hills in Paul Thomas Anderson’s film One Battle After Another.
This marked her first Golden Globe win. She delivered an emotional acceptance speech, tearfully expressing gratitude and dedicating it to”brown sisters and little brown girls,” emphasizing that “we belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter, our dreams deserve space.” She was visibly surprised and moved, noting she hadn’t prepared a full speech because she didn’t expect to win. Her co-stars, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, gave her a standing ovation.
One Battle After Another (released in 2025) is a black comedy action thriller directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti. Taylor’s character, Perfidia, is a member of a revolutionary group called the French 75, and her performance-described as powerful, driven, and impactful despite limited screen time in parts of the film— earned widespread praise during awards season.
The movie itself was a major contender, receiving nine Golden Globe nominations and winning Best Picture at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards.
Congratulations to Teyana Taylor on this well-deserved milestone in her acting career!
