My first time hearing Boldy James rap over a beat was on Big Sean’s “Fat Raps Remix,” featuring Chuck Inglish, Asher Roth, Chip tha Ripper, Dom Kennedy, and Boldy James. Then he dropped the mixtape My 1st Chemistry Set with The Alchemist, and I was instantly hooked—he’s one of my all-time favorites now.

His artistic growth deserves serious study.
