Escape Room is Teyana Taylor’s fourth studio album, The 22-track project is a cinematic blend of R&B, music, and storytelling, accompanied by a noir-inspired, post-apocalyptic short film written, directed, and produced by Taylor through her all-female production company, The Aunties. The album and film explore themes of heartbreak, healing, and self-discovery, reflecting Taylor’s personal journey, including her divorce from Iman Shumpert.

The album includes 13 music tracks and nine narrative interludes. Notable musical collaborators include Jill Scott, Tyla, Lucky Daye, and Kaytranada. Narrative interludes feature prominent actresses like Taraji P. Henson, Sarah Paulson, Issa Rae (on two tracks), Kerry Washington, Regina King, La La Anthony, Niecy Nash, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Tasha Smith.
